San Miguel City, Zamboanga del Sur – A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, for the construction of a new 1-storey 2-classroom building at Dumalian Elementary School. The project, which is estimated to cost around 5 million pesos, is funded by the Department of Education’s Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEF) CY 2024 and will be implemented by the DPWH 2nd District Engineering Office.

Congresswoman Victoria YU led the ceremony, which was also attended by San Miguel Mayor Ex D. Ocapan and other city officials. The new building is expected to provide much-needed additional space for the school’s growing student population and will also improve the overall learning environment for the students.
